Identify the buildup or neglected areas you want addressed. Grease around a cooking area, dust on reachable trim and soap residue in a shower need different methods and different amounts of time.
What to discuss
Ask about baseboards, door fronts, reachable fixtures, detailed bathroom work and kitchen surfaces. Specify whether cabinet interiors, the inside of the refrigerator, oven cleaning and interior windows are included or separately priced.
Clarify whether furniture will be moved. Light movable items, heavy furniture and appliances should not be treated as interchangeable. Tell the provider about fragile finishes and any existing damage before work begins.
What a deep clean does not establish
Cleaning cannot guarantee the removal of permanent stains, scratches, etching or worn finishes. Mould, sewage, pest contamination and unknown construction material need a separate assessment rather than a more aggressive version of an ordinary clean.
If moisture or mould is the issue, read when cleaning is not enough. For floor and stone finishes, use the surface-care guide.
Why quotes differ
Two properties with the same bedroom count can have very different levels of buildup. Send a task list and relevant photographs, then ask whether the price is fixed or based on labour. Confirm any limit on the number of cleaner-hours and what happens if the initial assessment was incomplete.
The calculator’s deep-cleaning option is a planning assumption. A provider may quote by room, property size or a specific package. Compare the written scope before comparing the final number.
Prepare and review the job
Clear access to the agreed surfaces. Empty cabinets or the refrigerator only if those interiors are included and you have arranged the timing. Identify the three areas that matter most to you.
At completion, check the task list together where possible. Distinguish an unfinished cleaning task from a surface that needs repair or specialist treatment. Agree any follow-up using specific observations.
Next: compare cleaning quotes, prepare for a cleaner or estimate local cleaning costs.
